Babanin Anatoly Andreyevich
is at the head of the university since 1996, elected an
Academician of the Academy of Sciences of High School of
Ukraine, Honoured Worker of Science and Technique of
Ukraine, Honoured Academician of the International
Academy of Anthropology, Polish Academy of Medical
Sciences, New York Medical Academy, Doctor of Medical
Sciences, professor, awarded the Honorable Distinction
of the President of Ukraine, order “ For Achievements of
the I class”, the Albert Schwietzer gold medal.
A. A. Babanin was born on the 19th of
August 1940 in the village of Mityazh, Priluzsky region,
Komi ASSR. In 1965 he graduated from the CSMI and stayed
at the institute to start a scientific work at the
department of operative surgery. Anatoly Andreyevich
defended PhD dissertation in 1968 and doctoral
dissertation in 1974. Since 1982 he is the head of the
department of forensic medicine. He organized original
scientific school of clinical and experimental
morphology.
A. A. Babanin is the author of more than
200 scientific works and 4 monographs on different
problems of experimental surgery, morphology and
forensic medicine. On the basis of long-term research
Anatoly Andreyevich created a new surgery absorbable
suture having no world analogues on its medical and
biological characteristics and it started being
produced. He is the author of 5 inventions, patented in
Ukraine, Russia and other countries of Europe. Four MD
and 25 PhD dissertations were prepared and defended
under his direction. Scientist with the world famous
name A. A. Babanin is noted not only in
Ukraine but also far beyond its borders.
Creative work of the scientist and the head of the
university adds to the strengthening of the university
image. A.A.Babanin ensures a high quality of teaching
and educational process, theoretical, professional and
practical training of specialists, research work in the
field of medicine. Research and pedagogical personnel of
the university, specialists trained at the university
made important contribution to the science and applied
medicine not only of our country but also of many
countries of the world.
